:

Assists in processing physician prescriptions to ensure medications are promptly, accurately, and safely filled. Prepares various medications and assists supervising pharmacist. Assists with patient questions and service. Maintains records related to drug use and charges.

Work Hours/Shift:

  • per diem

You Will Be Responsible For :

  • Exceptional Patient Care : Maintain automated dispensing machines (ADMs) stock levels by loading and refilling medications including narcotics for all in-patients

  • Technical Familiarity: Package and distribute drugs and sterile products; may include but not limited to preparing IV admixtures, solutions, and other sterile products and chemotherapy; dispense controlled drugs with supervision of a pharmacist to anesthetists, and for delivery to ADM machines; inspect assigned nursing units for proper drug storage, stability and expiration dates as well as maintaining proper drug reliability in the pharmacy

Requirements :

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of a hospital-based, community college or military technician training program preferable

  • State Pharmacy Technician registration must be current; or registration as a Pharmacy Intern and actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy program.

Preferred Skills:

  • PTCB National Certification (CPhT) desired, not required

  • Two years hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred
