This is an on-site and full-time position with flexibility to work from home. At Alloy, we have an ethos of “Mentorship-By-Apprenticeship” in all of our positions. The Team 

Our Alloy Discovery Services (ADS) team is looking for a Scientist/Senior Scientist to join our in-vivo antibody discovery team in Waltham, Massachusetts. The team is responsible for antibody discovery efforts for a wide range of projects using diverse technologies to isolate and sequence antigen-specific B cells from Alloy transgenic mice. Embracing a dynamic, inventive, and teamwork-oriented environment, you'll contribute to our overarching mission with the ultimate goal of helping others to make better medicines.

The Role 

As a Scientist/Senior Scientist, Antibody Discovery, you will work with our ADS team to build new antibody technologies for the discovery of antibody-based therapeutics. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and using the very latest single-cell techniques with the goal of identifying drug candidates in close collaboration with our partners. You will be a subject-matter expert providing key guidance on overall project strategies, driving efficient execution of lab activities while ensuring high quality deliverables all with a hands-on approach. This role requires an independent sense of urgency and strong organizational skills. 

This role will report to Head of In-Vivo Antibody Discovery with autonomy owning various stakeholders, projects, and tasks in a dynamic start-up environment while keeping up the pace of Alloy. This is you!

  • Improve: Drive the development, implementation, and optimization of cutting-edge antibody discovery technologies.

  • Collaborate: With broader team of scientific experts at Alloy to integrate antibody discovery efficiently into projects and engage with external collaborators in discovery of biologics.

  • Deliver: Efficient execution of partner projects balancing quality, timeline, and costs, while ensuring successful delivery on projects.

  • Lead: Lead by example by going the extra mile to ensure we are successful delivering on projects. 

  • Communicate: Communicate effectively with key stakeholders within the organization, fostering productive interactions across teams at different sites.

Why We Value You 

  • You have experience in in vivo antibody discovery platforms

  • You have expertise with single B cell sorting and sort design

  • You have experience with preparation of immune cells for screening on single-cell platforms

  • You are skilled in functional assay development

  • You have experience in immune repertoire sequencing 

  • You have experience in next-generation sequencing: library preparation and sequencing

  • You have knowledge of high throughput cloning of antibodies

  • You have skilled with immunizations and animal handling 

  • You have ELN and LIMS experience

     Desired Multipliers  

  • PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or related discipline with 0-2 years of experience or your master with +5 years of experience

  • Experience in single-cell microfluidics technologies antibody discovery platforms using transgenic animals

  • Ability to work across various US and international time zones 

  • Accommodate occasional travel as needed (<5%)
