Job Title: QC Laboratory Licensed Senior Chemist Job Function: Revise and approve laboratory test results and assist the laboratory supervisor in the day-to-day administrative tasks. Job Type: Eight months minimum full-time contract. Shifts: Second, third and weekends. Location: Jayuya, PR (On-Site) Scope of Job

  • RCM is looking for a QC licensed Sr. laboratory chemist to perform routing analytical testing review and approval in an FDA regulated environment for our client located in Jayuya, PR.

    Primary Tasks

  • Responsible for the review and approval of analytical test results and determines the sample disposition of materials tested.

  • Identifies aspects of the tests or results warranting further attention and implements corrective actions.

  • Support the organization and administration of the laboratory analysts and the oversight of the day-to-day operations.

  • Support document handling and provides oversight for laboratory systems and complete documentation of laboratory reports.

  • Asure all exception reports, change requests (CR's), instrument calibrations and maintenances and product records are handled correctly in the area.

  • Assist the laboratory supervisor in the management and oversight of laboratory analysts hiring, performance expectations by providing performance feedback, development of staff and handling of personnel issues.

  • Write/updates procedures for operation, calibration, and training of laboratory instrument as well as laboratory practices.

  • Ensure inventory of chemical laboratory reference standards and laboratory supplies.

  • May schedule laboratory tests to provide support to production manufacturing activity.

  • Assists in the periodic inspection of laboratory facilities, to assure that they are operated and administered according to GMP.

  • Assists analysts with the analytical instrumentation and maintaining the inventory of the controlled substance transfers and record schedule.

    Qualifications

  • Experience and knowledge in data analysis. Must be able to interpret impact of laboratory data for appropriate and effective actions.

  • Must be able to identify problem areas requiring development, maintenance, production, engineering, accounting, or planning with assistance from more senior staff.

  • Demonstrated skills to deal effectively with members of the department and the areas serviced by the laboratory.

  • Problem solving skills are required.

  • Must also be able to identify, communicate, and follow-through to completion and assist in the development of necessary corrective action plans to resolve the problem with supervision.

  • Assist in the activities required for the investigation and resolution.

  • Must be fully bilingual (English / Spanish) with excellent oral and technical writing skills.

  • Experience as a coordinator or group leader is a plus.

    Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry with 5-6 years of experience in the QC laboratory within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. A chemistry license is a must.
