Red Hat Strategic Account Manager - Telecom in Tokyo, Japan

Job Summary:

Work in a defined territory or industry vertical and be responsible for building new relationships and expanding and improving business with existing customers. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Sales Manager of the Softbank account to join us in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will be a key part of our Field Sales team. You’ll oversee all aspects of the sale, including pricing negotiations, contract development, order fulfillment, and the management of internal associates, including sales engineering support and technical support issues. As a Sales Manager, you’ll need to be comfortable working with partner sales and services teams and IT and business executives, using your extensive experience developing and carrying out sales plans. Your success will be measured by your ability to meet quantitative and qualitative performance goals and set high standards for articulation and presentation of key messages and the Red Hat value proposition.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Successfully sell our solutions and services in an assigned territory or industry

  • Create strategic and tactical sales plans and guide the extended Sales team to maximize revenue and growth

  • Meet assigned sales quota by acquiring new customer accounts and renewing and growing existing relationships

  • Call on prospective customers, providing technical and administrative information, demonstrations, and price quotes for our offerings

  • Accurately forecast and close sales in alignment with company goals

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT sales with an exceptional record

  • Ability to work both as part of a fast-paced and growing team and on your own

  • Good understanding of the companies and opportunities within Japan

  • Good communication and technical skills to develop relationships at engineering, commercial, and executive levels throughout organizations

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Good understanding of the enterprise market and partner ecosystem

  • High ethical standards and integrity

  • Willingness to travel, following Red Hat’s COVID-19 guidelines

  • Understanding of Linux and middleware software-related sales cycles is a plus

  • Experience selling open source software technology or other software services in a subscription model is a plus
