The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

Role Summary:

The Talent Development & Learning (TDL) Americas team focuses on talent identification/review and associated processes, including succession/contingency planning, promotions, individual development planning (IDP), as well as supports L&D for employees, managers, and leaders across the Americas.

Main Responsibilities:

As part of the TDL team, the Talent Management (TM), VP will be responsible for leading and executing the promotions processes, ensuring fair and consistent evaluation and feedback across the Americas. Working with the Global Talent, Learning, & Culture team, the TM VP will contribute their perspective, voice of the client, and best practices to ensure a globally-aligned, effective promotions strategy.

The TM VP will also manage the promotion pipeline in collaboration with Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs), supporting the business to ensure that nominations fall within business plans, target operating models, and role size requirements. This role will also develop materials for senior committees and regulators to demonstrate compliance with promotion expectations, and highlight risk and mitigation as required.

Additionally, the TM VP will collaborate with global DEI leadership to support the Americas execution of our DEI learning & development strategy. The TM VP will consult with business stakeholders to understand DEI L&D priorities, identify requirements and work with DEI leadership to propose effective development solutions related to inclusion and cross-cultural awareness.

Finally, the TM VP will serve as an internal talent consultant to our Corporate Functions HRBPs and their clients. They will work to understand the talent landscape of select Corporate Functions and address talent gaps and development needs, in partnership with the rest of the TDL Americas team. This may include:

  • Work with business leaders to diagnose business line performance problems and organizational effectiveness issues; advising on development opportunities

  • Building awareness for individuals and managers around existing development opportunities, including internal mobility and career development

  • Lead in-scope business units in succession and contingency planning

  • Manage targeted initiatives for emerging leaders and leadership development

Expected Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience equally preferable

  • 6+ years of experience in talent management or L&D, or HR business partner roles

  • Managing talent development programs, preferably within a highly regulated, financial services environments

  • Experience in talent review, succession planning, or promotions processes. Experience managing the promotion process preferred

  • Proven success consulting with clients on talent development needs and recommending development programming

  • Experience incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into talent processes and practices preferred

  • Supporting strategic, tactical, and logistical L&D plan development and issues resolution

  • Strong proficiency with quantitative analysis in relation to workforce data

  • Certifications in or experience with developmental assessments preferred: 360-degree assessments; high-potential assessments; personality assessments; skills assessments; competency assessments

  • Excellent skills in verbal/written/interpersonal communications and influencing skills

  • Strong presentation skills including with virtual and in person audiences

  • Identifies multiple paths to success using analytical and critical thinking as well as decision-making skills in a complex work environment

  • Is confident engaging and building relationships with various stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Exhibits and fosters optimism, resilience, flexibility, and openness to others' ideas

  • Leads by example, engaging inclusively and with intent

  • Always acts with integrity

  • Regarded as a change agent

The typical base pay range for this role is between $100K - $136K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
