Fairview Health Services Community Health RN - Casual in St Paul, Minnesota

Overview

Are you an RN who is passionate about helping the community?

We at M Health Fairview are looking for casual RNs to join our Community Health team! We have multiple positions because our MINI team is growing! Minnesota Immunization Networking Initiative (MINI) is a community collaborative led by M Health Fairview with over 125 local partners. MINI's mission is to reduce barriers to vaccinations for communities facing health disparities in the greater Twin Cities area. The program's success is due to strong and lasting partnerships with multiple faith-based and grass-roots community organizations. MINI clinics are in community-based settings such as local churches, mosques, schools, community centers, food pantries, and homeless shelters. Influenza, COVID-19, and other vaccinations are provided at no charge to participants ages six months and older.

Over the years, the MINI program has effectively adapted to offer a variety of services in response to community-identified needs. For example, in 2016 MINI began providing free fluoride varnish applications and dental resources to address persistent oral health disparities. In 2020, MINI partnered with Saint Paul Ramsey County Public Health, the Minnesota Department of Health, and more than 50 local community partners to ensure that underserved populations had equitable access to both COVID-19 testing and vaccines. Between January 2021 and December 2022, MINI provided more than 55,000 COVID-19 vaccinations at 996 vaccination events and served as a vaccinator partner for the state's COVID Community Connector's program. Eight-eight percent of individuals served identified as a person of color, and approximately 30 percent were uninsured. Many community members that receive MINI services are recent immigrants, and persons whose preferred language is not English. MINI launched its 17th influenza season in September 2022.

We've had the privilege of receiving many awards and recognitions such as:

• 2021: Listed as Promising Practice by National Resource Center for Refugees, Immigrants, and Migrants (NRC-RIM) for partnering with faith-based organizations and providing convenient vaccine access for communities

• 2021: Presented the MINI model at the Centers for Disease Control National Forum on the Coronavirus Disease 2021 Vaccine Conference

• 2019: Published in Public Health Reports

• 2019: Published in The American Journal of Public Health

• Received the Laura Scott Outstanding Influenza Season Activities Award from the National Adult and Influenza Immunization Summit (two-time recipient 2014-2015 and 2018-2019)

• 2008: Presented MINI model at the White House
