Material Handler | Fork Lift Driver

Primary Object of Position:

Our client is looking for a responsible Material handler | Forklift Driver for accurate moving, locating, relocating, and storing of materials, utilizing a forklift or other power-operated equipment.

Major Areas of Performance:

 

  • Safe and efficient operation of all power-operated equipment that requires certification

  • Safe and efficient movement of Product (Including loading and unloading trucks)

  • Accurately pick and pack items for shipment potentially with a forklift

  • Label and prepare items for shipment

  • Work with Inventory Control on correct product placement

  • Complete required paperwork and project time-tracking documentation

  • Maintain warehouse orders to ensure pallet locations are kept available for incoming items

  • Ensure all items not required short-term are restocked according to established procedures

  • Update the Warehouse Management System with transaction

  • Performs daily safety checklist and standard battery charging procedure

  • Assist with contracting freight couriers to schedule pick-ups and deliveries

  • Assist in cycle counting and periodic inventories

  • Assist team members in meeting and exceeding customers' expectations

  • Update supervisor and team lead on issues or concerns

  • Participate in process improvement by communicating to supervisor and/or team lead

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

  • Support and maintain corporate quality, health, and safety standards, processes, policies, practices, and work instructions. (ISO standards where applicable)

  • All other duties as assigned

    Qualifications Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Previous warehouse/manufacturing experience required

  • Forklift experience preferred

  • Trucks – Swing mast forklift, standard forklift, Stand up order picker (this is different from a stand up forklift)

  • Current forklift certification and/or ability to become certified within 30 day period required

  • Basic Math and reading skills

  • Must be able to read and understand written and verbal instructions in English

  • Ability to pay attention to detail to ensure accuracy

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds solo and greater weights in a team lift environment

  • Physical requirements include: lifting, carrying, bending, stretching and standing for long periods of time, ability to handle heights

    Type: Full Time -Contingent

    Pay Rate: $17.50Hr

    Shift: 7-3:30 M-F

    Duration – 6 weeks

    Start – ASAP
