Here’s the Gist:

As the Senior Manager for Wafer Operations, your team is responsible for achieving metric excellence for establishing, building, and leading the WaferOps team for the startup of the world’s largest Silicon Carbide manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for setting and attaining goals that drive our growth in revenue and margin while supporting our internal and external customers, with safety in the forefront at all times. You will lead teams to drive Operations KPI’s, Operations Training and work with support teams to achieve equipment performance, process and product stability, transfer of processes from R&D, and yield improvement roadmaps. You will support the needs of your team by breaking down barriers, collaborating with your support organizations, and defining business processes to scale our operations.


This posting is for a position that will directly support operations at the John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide, our expansion site in Siler City, NC. The person in this role will train at our Durham, NC headquarters initially.


The Day-to-Day

  • Lead the operations organization with focus on stable output performance, at planned cost, yields, and cycle time.
  • Collaborate with planning and marketing to achieve business goals aligned with our operations leaders and customer expectations.
  • Align goals and organizational structure to support our internal and external customers, internal and external suppliers, and R&D team.
  • Support the team through regular 1:1s, time on the production floor, round-tables, and other means of building strong connections with our workforce.
  • Manage budget and operational execution to the quarterly financial plan.
  • Present technical data and executive summaries to internal management describing factory performance, improvement plans, and short term/long term growth plans.


This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):

  • BS in an Engineering Discipline, Materials Science, or Equivalent
  • 10+ years leading an Operations team, with background in Process, Equipment, or Product, in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated prior experience with recruiting, training, and building large-scale operations teams with success.
     

This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.
