Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our professional services team in Reston, Virginia. As a Senior Accountant, you will have the opportunity to perform general accounting duties and collaborate closely with external auditors. This role will allow you to utilize your skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general accounting duties in the accounting department

• Prepare monthly financial statements including Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activities

• Maintain all general ledger transactions

• Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books

• Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks

• Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections

• Verify A/P transactions, weekly check run, and responsible for verifying invoices to the appropriate expense accounts

• Collaborate closely with external auditors to coordinate the information necessary to perform the annual audit

• File required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies

• Coordinate with software vendor to maintain the accounting software system, recommend updates to enhance the accounting software. Requirements

• Possession of advanced accounting skills, including Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Proficiency in the use of General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Strong ability to use Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP

• A background in the Professional Services industry

• Prior work experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and professionalism

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
