VILLAGE OF OREGON Utility Accounting Assistant in OREGON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Utility Accounting Assistant, under the supervision and direction of the Finance Director / Village Treasurer, performs a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, billing, customer service, and administrative support tasks and duties for the Village\'s Finance Department primarily in support of the Village\'s water and sewer utilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Receipts and updates utility payments into the utility billing system. Maintains and updates utility customer database for changes of ownership, renter change, address changes and other pertinent information. Updates billing system master file to establish new customer address and account numbers. Maintains and updates automated clearinghouse (ACH) records and agreements for preauthorized payments of customer accounts. Performs duties in the collection of delinquent customer accounts, including preparation and mailing of notices to final billed accounts and tenant / landlord accounts. Some post-secondary coursework (college, tech school, certificate program, or similar) completed related to bookkeeping, accounting, or related field. One to two years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field. One to two years of customer service experience. An equivalent or related combination of education and experience may be considered.
