As BIM invests in its assets, we need to ensure due diligence is performed by the Project Controls organization. This will be achieved by providing a proactive service in controlling, monitoring and forecasting cost, quantity, hours, schedule, progress and performance. This position will contribute by providing cost control and scheduling services on complex projects within Sustaining Projects department. This role is based at our Mary River mine in Nunavut on a 3X3 rotation.

Main Accountabilities

General Accountability (Critical Output)

• The Cost analyst reports to and supports the Project Controls Manager and will be responsible for maintaining cost and schedule data integrity and reporting.

• The Cost analyst will support services contributing to the timely and cost effective implementation of capital projects.

Challenges of the Role

• The prime challenge of this role is the timely development and update of project cost & schedule data in support of the project’s cost forecast, incurred cost and schedule milestones. In executing this challenge the Cost analyst will:

• Use existing and recommend additional PC related software (e.g. SAP, MS Project) and other related software, to advantage, in maintaining cost detail.

• Maintain a high level of technical expertise in the project control tools.

• Establish and maintain communications with all area personnel.

• Specific Accountabilities

• Liaise with BIM SP Project Management teams timing and requirements for cost control reports and schedule updates.

• Provide cost control reports and schedule updates.

• Provide Purchase Requests, POs and other tasks within SAP as requested by BIM SP Project Management or BIM Project Controls Manager.

• Provide input and assist with the preparation of cost control or scheduling plans.

• Provide input and assist in project estimating, planning, document control and change management activities

• Provide input at project review meetings.

• Liaise with contractor teams to ensure accurate reporting of costs and schedules.

• Assist in the validation of contractor claims for daily LEMS.

• Review, provide input to engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction plans/schedules that are generated by the respective groups.

• Liaise with site construction management group to capture construction plans in project schedules.

• Follow the SP change management process.

• Participate in the preparation of risk mitigation plans, contingency analysis and contingency draw down plans.

• Other work as requested by BIM SP Project Management or BIM Project Controls Manager.

Main Qualifications

• College Diploma in Finance & Accounting is a minimum requirement, Bachelor's Degree preferred

• 3-5 years experience in a similar role

• Proficient in MS Office and SAP

• Knowledge of accounting (IFRS) and practices

• Previous experience working in a remote Arctic operation with camp

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt and learn quickly on the job
