As a Junior Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to the development of innovative projects. In this role the candidate will have the opportunity to exercise their technical and interpersonal skills while growing in their career. Field work may involve traversing difficult terrain and include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Other work will be carried out in a typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.

Main Accountabilities

• Assist in the managing of Mary River and other site projects including site inspections, progress reporting, plus materials, equipment and contractor management

• Prepare progress reports including schedule, quality, quantity and cost analysis

• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that may arise during the design or execution phase

• Complete assigned tasks within established timelines and budgets while maintaining high-quality standards

• Assist in the review of technical drawings, specifications and reports

• Coordinate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, and technicians

Main Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field

• Familiarity with engineering software and tools

• Strong academic record with a focus on engineering coursework

• Legally able to work in Canada

• 1-2 years of relevant internship or entry level engineering is preferred, but not mandatory

• Basic knowledge of project management principles and methodologies

• Ability to work independently on remote work sites within Arctic conditions

• Strong initiative plus problem solving skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment as well as independently when required

• Proficiency in CAD software
