About the role

American Express entered the travel agency business in 1915 and today is one of the world’s largest luxury travel and lifestyle services networks. The Travel & Lifestyle Services (TLS) business provides exclusive access, differentiated value, extraordinary service, and expertise to Premium Card Members seeking leisure travel, as well as a variety of lifestyle services.

Reporting into the Vice President, TLS APAC, you will play a key role in the analysis and delivery of management information, developing strategic and operational project plans and driving key results. You will need to influence and partner with a wide range of leaders and employees across different markets.

As a Business Planning Analyst, you will be running strategic analytical initiatives and priorities across 7 TLS APAC markets, including business performance line with scorecard goals and longer-term strategy. You will assess and share opportunities for improved performance and practices across markets.

Responsibilities

The role requires a self-motivated individual who will thrive on the challenge of producing and analysing management information data from across APAC markets, as well as the other International and US lines of business and be able to present the detail to Senior Management via the following responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyse data (financial, customer and operational - contact centres), and drawing conclusions with robust quantitative methodology.

  • Prepare senior leader updates and strategic presentations.

  • Planning business reviews, staff meetings, employee town halls

  • Direct department-wide administrative functions, including operating expense management

  • Work with the functional leaders to align organisational priorities, drive cross-functional strategic initiatives

  • Track APAC key project portfolios and achievements by supervising activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.

  • Creatively problem solve with very little direction and able to drive initiatives forward independently.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for an individual with extensive experience working in an analytical role which involved comprehensive reporting and data analysis, with great knowledge of business management and strategic planning to join our APAC regional leadership team!. The successful applicant will have:

  • Advance knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint

  • Beginner working knowledge of SQL.

  • Organisational skills and critical thinking ability with the agility to problem solve and handle multiple and diverse projects simultaneously, while continuing to support the day to day running of the VP's office and team.

  • Exceptional project management, organisation and planning skills applied in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships at all business levels.

  • Experience handling sensitive data where a high level of confidentiality and integrity is required.

  • Experience working in regional and/or global structure and with colleagues located in different time zones.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand, analyse data and produce meaningful conclusions to Senior leaders.
