Your opportunity

  • Own Janus Henderson’s end-to-end corporate carbon emissions collection and reporting process, including:

  • Tracking Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions data across global offices

  • Manage Greenstone platform overseeing the centralized gathering and upload of emissions data, ensuring all issues are resolved to achieve on-time submission and accurate and complete final reports are

  • Help identify improvement & efficiency opportunities to achieve higher process efficiency

  • Support regulatory (Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting, Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and non-regulatory (CDP, Responsibility Report, International Sustainability Standards Board) emissions tracking and reporting

  • Help set and track science-based emissions targets, upholding Janus Henderson’s published corporate environmental commitments

  • Manage Janus Henderson’s carbon offset portfolio, including selecting new projects by assessing credibility, pricing and assurance:

  • Maintain the company’s Carbon Neutral status, working with Climate Impact Partners

  • Handle queries from internal and external auditors to facilitate closure of any findings

  • Establish strong stakeholder relationships and maintain effective communication channels

  • Contribute to firmwide RFPs/DDQs regarding Janus Henderson’s corporate sustainability practices and approach

  • Coordinate information provided to Janus Henderson’s corporate ESG evaluators (eg, MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc.)

  • Work with the Knowledge Management team as Subject Matter Expert on maintaining and uplifting corporate sustainability content

  • Partner with Responsibility Content & Learning team to:

  • Develop annual Green Week and other corporate sustainability awareness initiatives

  • Update corporate sustainability information on intranet

  • Provide training support on sustainability-related matters to various stakeholders

  • In partnership with the Facilities team:

  • Advise on corporate sustainability improvement initiatives

  • Track corporate, environmental and sustainability legislative compliance across offices

  • Provide procedures/implement with Facilities any necessary changes to maintain or supersede regulatory compliance in the field of environment/sustainability

  • Lead the development of standard operating procedures for corporate sustainability tasks. Incorporate suitable control frameworks to ensure data related input is robust and verifiable through the supply chain

    Must have skills

  • Experience with Greenstone, Climate Impact Partners, or similar vendors

  • Deep knowledge of carbon accounting standards and protocols, such as the GHG Protocol, CDP, and ISO 14064

  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting standards, such as ISSB

  • Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and policies, as well as emerging trends and best practices in sustainability

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to collect, organise and interpret complex data sets

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse, global team environment

    Nice to have skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Environmental Science, Sustainability, or similar).

  • Strong writing skills

  • Experience working in investment management, asset management, or financial services
