Lunch Pro LLC Child Nutrition Specialist in KAYSVILLE, Utah

We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Child Nutrition Specialist to join our team. We specialize in providing high-quality nutrition services to children in Utah's charter schools. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of USDA regulations governing federal nutrition programs and a commitment to promoting healthy eating habits.

The Child Nutrition Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with USDA regulations and guidelines for federal nutrition programs, including the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), Seamless Summer Option (SSO), Summer Meals Program (SMP), Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), and other relevant standards. This position will involve collaborating with school staff and administrators to deliver nutritious meals and promote healthy lifestyles for children. This position will be based in Utah and will involve working closely with charter schools and other organizations to ensure program compliance and provide high-quality nutrition services to children.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure compliance with USDA regulations and guidelines for federal nutrition programs.
  2. Develop and implement nutrition policies, procedures, and documentation methods in alignment with federal and state requirements.
  3. Provide training and support to food service personnel on meal planning, preparation, and service standards.
  4. Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor program compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  5. Collaborate with Lunch Pro team members, school administrators, teachers, and students to promote healthy eating habits and nutrition education initiatives.
  6. Coordinate with Lunch Pro Admin team for menu planning and meal service logistics to meet nutritional requirements and dietary preferences.
  7. Oversee commodity inventory management and supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality standards.
  8. Stay informed about changes in federal and state regulations related to child nutrition programs and implement necessary adjustments.
  9. Prepare reports and documentation for Lunch Pro Leadership, regulatory agencies, audits, and program evaluations.
  10. Assist client schools process free and reduced lunch applications, direct certification, and other state and federal aid applications.
  11. Serve as a resource for schools and stakeholders regarding nutrition programs, best practices, and emerging trends.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, Food Service Management, or a related field preferred.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with child nutrition programs, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
  3. Thorough understanding of USDA regulations and guidelines for NSLP, SBP, SSO, SMP, CACFP, FFVP and other federal nutrition programs.
  4. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  6. Proficiency in/Familiarity with Google Workspace, CNP Web, ASPIRE and nutrition software applications (Titan/Linq).
  7. Ability to travel to multiple school locations, as needed.
  8. Commitment to promoting healthy eating habits and improving nutritional outcomes for children.
