Innovation Associates, Inc. Process Engineer II in Johnson City, New York

The Role:

Responsible for the development, implementation and support of processes and procedures for manufacturing builds. Workstation creation, tool selection, and manufacturing line creation. Able to work either alone or as part of a team to evaluate both product and process flow to improve the quality, consistency, and rate of assembly.

What you’ll do:

  • Develops, enhances, and implements system processes that increase efficiency and optimize all phases from design to manufacturing. Writes and releases process documentation.

  • Oversees process projects and ensures the efficient and safe functioning of all the processes related to producing iA’s product.

  • Designs processes and tooling related to iA’s products that are cost effective and in keeping with a given budget.

  • Evaluates existing processes, suggests measures for improvement, and drives to reduce cost, improve quality and sustainability, boost productivity and profitability. Develop best practices for the manufacturing process.

  • Implements methods and process designs, builds prototypes, tests, and makes necessary modifications where required.

  • Works with product designers and manufacturing employees to develop a cost-effective and working production process.

  • Conducts testing to develop processes that are cost effective and meet quality goals.

  • Assesses safety requirements and ensures that these are integrated into the process; maintains reliable and safe manufacturing systems.

  • Improves process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.

  • Collects, records, and presents data in reports; maintains the following:

  • Procedures

  • Specifications

  • Control Plans

  • Flow Charts

  • FMEA’s

  • Works closely with the New Product Development team on development and research projects.

  • Provides suggestions during incident investigations and advises on corrective actions.

  • Research new manufacturing technology and works in collaboration with the engineering department to improve production equipment functionality.

    Who you are:

  • Associates degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.

  • 6+ years of experience in an engineering/manufacturing field.

  • Ability to read and understand prints and schematics as well as other similar layouts.

  • Ability to create redline drawings to identify:

  • Issues found

  • Ease of Manufacturing Improvements

  • Assembly Process improvements

  • Quality improvement opportunities

  • AutoCAD/Inventor experience.

  • Experience working in a Manufacturing setting where quality is vital.

  • Excellent electrical and mechanical aptitude.

  • Failure analysis experience.

  • Soldering and crimping experience.

  • Knowledge of IPC610 and J-Standards.

  • Identify and design Tooling required for various operations.

  • Identify inspection methods for various parts.

  • Drive a team of Engineers in the creation of specialized test equipment.

  • Has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to detail the operation of highly complex test equipment.

  • Detail-oriented and capable of performing consistent high-quality work.

  • Must possess strong diplomacy and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and independently prioritize them to align with deadlines and business goals.

    Compensation:

    The estimated base annual salary range for this position is $66,504.21 to $92,047.35, though a candidate's base annual salary shall be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience. This position may additionally be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
