Mission: YOU . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9h1WLIY3hT8 – Heroes Welcome Job Summary : Serves as a working leader responsible for leading a minimum of three 3 or more employees in grade NA-5 performing tailoring duties. Duties and Responsibilities: As working leader is responsible for passing on to Fabric Workers NA-5 instructions received from supervisor and setting the pace for the accomplishment of various tailoring duties. Ensures work schedules are established and maintained assigns work to other Fabric Workers maintains employee time-cards recommends approval of leave furnishes input for Work Performance Reviews and handles routine customer complaints. - Makes alternations and repairs to military uniform garments such as pinning and trimming lengthening and shortening sleeves taking and letting out waist of jackets replacing zippers lowering collars replacing pockets shortening and lengthening pants tapering shirts and sewing on rates and stripes etc. Sews for dependents making alternations to shirts to shirts dresses and skirts slacks etc. - Receives written special orders from patrons requiring the affixing of medals ribbons badges devices rating etc. Patrons selects appropriate item from a very large assortment of such insignia for military personnel. Measures the correct placement of items to be affixed. Measures marks trims bastes and presses upon completion. Mounts medals and sews items on uniform as appropriate. - Operates a sewing machine and maintains machine and working area in a clean and orderly manner. Assists with monthly inventory requisitions and maintains adequate supply of stock at all times. - Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor. Assignments are performed based on written and oral instructions. Incumbent carries out tailoring assignments independently and in accordance with own ability and skill in performing tailoring duties following established procedures. Refers unusual tailoring problems to supervisor for assistance. Review is made in terms of timeliness efficiency of operations and patron satisfaction. - Performs other related duties as assigned MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN, IF NOT, MUST HAVE LIVED IN THE U.S. FOR THREE YEARS. Availability Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Our teams are working tirelessly to provide a clean and safe environment for our Associates and customers. This includes: • Plexiglass guards at cash registers. • Cleaning protocols that include hand sanitizer and supplies to clean throughout the day. • Social Distancing by maintaining at least six feet between yourself and shoppers. • Face masks and gloves for Associates to wear during their shifts. Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE One year of experience that provided the applicant with knowledge and skill to carry out basic modifications alterations and repair of clothing. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE One year of experience that provided the applicant with the knowledge and skill in the use of a sewing machine to perform alternations and repairs to garments such as pinning and basting trimming lengthening and shortening sleeves taking in and letting out waists of jackets replacing zippers lowering collars replacing pockets shortening and lengthening pants tapering skirts sewing on ratings and stripes etc. Demonstrated ability to provide direction to NA-05 or lower graded fabric workers. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Usually stands stoops bends and kneels to measure and mark items being altered. Sits for long periods of time while operating sewing machine or doing hand sewing. Continual use of hands arms and fingers is required in sewing and using shears.
