Coherent Corp. Intern, Materials Processing - Coating Lab Tech - 2004498 in Granby, Connecticut
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: We are seeking college summer interns to work at our East Granby CT location for twelve-week assignments / projects. The Coating Lab Technician Intern will work closely with our operational and technical staff. Primary responsibilities will include conducting testing, executing coating experiments, and operating and maintaining lab equipment.
Key Responsibilities: * Coating Experiments: - Assist in setting up and executing polymer synthesis and coating formulation experiments - Collect experimental data accurately and maintain detailed lab notebooks and electronic records * Testing and Quality Control: - Conduct coating test measurements to assess optical properties, rheological properties, and mechanical properties - Analyze measurement results and discuss findings with the team * Equipment Operation and Maintenance: - Collaborate with lab personnel to operate and maintain Coating Lab equipment - Become familiar with using a rheometer, refractometer, reactor, and other relevant tools * Lab Management: - Maintain a clean and organized lab environment * Collaboration and Communication: - Work closely with other lab technicians, engineers, and researchers - Share progress and findings with team members
Quality and Environmental Responsibilities Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
