Daikin Applied Sr. Manager - Operational Excellence in Faribault, Minnesota

Summary Provides management and guidance of operational improvement programs, thus enhancing the skill sets and improvement tools for Daikin Applied Americas. Provides management direction and guidance in the development, implementation, and sustainment of continuous improvement and skills development activities and programs for Daikin Applied Air Handling. Leads and facilitates cost savings through productivity improvements, work transition, and scrap reduction. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Develops and leads continuous improvement training programs related to Kaizen, quality, problem solving, and team facilitation techniques and tools across Applied Air Handling (AAH). Create the vision and strategy that drives continuous improvement in terms of cost reduction (CIP), productivity gains, and lean best practices across all AAH functions and facilities to improve Quality and On-Time Delivery. Develops and coordinates the implementation of employee technical skills development programs and provides ongoing management oversight and support of these programs. Provides coaching experience and subject matter expertise to others working with Kaizen and other Lean methodologies. Collaborates with all AAH operations and support functions to improve their key performance indicators Acts as advanced facilitator for Kaizen activities, utilizing Lean methods, Value Stream Maps, SIPOC, RACI and other as needed tools to improve process maturity. Lead training for Daikin Applied Lean initiatives and Six Sigma initiatives. Lead implementation for 'DAA Manufacturing Operations Standards' across all AAH and assist in the development and implementation of a best-in-class continuous improvement strategy for AAH. Lead Policy Deployment, scorecard and macro planning activities across AAH. Acts as coordinator for key improvement initiatives. Provide leadership support in the areas of continuous improvement and operational excellence to all AAH locations in North America. Establish and implement a process for standard communication of continuous improvement initiatives across the organization and perform periodic audits to ensure the process is consistent. Maintains records of all improvement activities, participants, and cost improvements. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent technical field; advanced degree preferred. Preferably Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Certificate. 5 years of Operations & Continuous Improvement experience. 3 years of Kaizen improvement processes and the Toyota Production System or Six Sigma Project Management. Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
