All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform the work described in this job description and must be available for the entire period of employment from January 1, 2024 to October 31, 2024. Workers will perform a combination of tasks involved in the planting, cultivating and harvesting of tomatoes, according to the instructions of the supervisor. Workers will work in greenhouse planting and transplanting seedlings. Work will include hand weeding, thinning and hoeing, as well as other duties related to the planting, maintaining and harvesting of the crops. Workers will operate farm machinery and work in a storage building washing, culling, and preparing produce for storage or distribution. Workers are required to stand, bend and kneel for long periods of time. Workers must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Workers will harvest the crops according to the quality and method of the employer. Due to safety concerns for employees and the plants, there will be NO SMOKING on the farm premises. The owners will provide a designated area for smoking. Workers will work in varied weather conditions. Beginning and ending times each day, as well as the number of hours per day will vary depending on the weather and the conditions of the crops. Workers will be given a 30-minute lunch break and a 15-minute break in the morning and afternoon. Workers must be able to take directions in simple English.

  1. The employer provided or secured housing is within 100 yards from the main work site (127 Route 113, East Thetford, VT 05043) and the workers will walk to that main worksite (82 Wilson Road, East Thetford, VT 05043) daily when they are on the job.

  2. Lunch breaks are staggered between 12:00-12:30 as decided by the workers, where they will walk back to their bunk house to make their meals, then return to the worksite at 12:30.

  3. At the end of the workday, workers will return to the employer provided secured housing that is within 100 yards from the main work site (127 Route 113, East Thetford, VT 05043)

  4. The above daily transportation schedule is being apprised to each worker.

  5. Transportation is provided at no cost to the workers in a five (5) passengers seater Scion XB wagon or a five (5) passengers seater Hyundai Ioniq SUV that is employer owned and licensed in the state of Vermont to conduct their personal errands such as going to the Bank, Western Union, MoneyGram, and shopping which is done once a week.

  6. This once per week transportation is available to US Domestic workers who are not residing at the employer-provided housing at no cost. 20 CFR655.122(h)(3)
