Role Definition:

Performs basic activities to assist in the manufacture and assembly of various products per established facility processes including set-up, calibration, testing, maintenance and production operation.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Operating basic production equipment and tools in the manufacture, assembly and packaging of various products.

  • Following engineering drawings, guidelines, diagrams and schematics to ensure product and customer specifications and tolerance levels are met.

  • Assisting as part of manufacturing team in modifying existing equipment or designing new equipment for continual manufacturing process improvement, as well as quality control and in-process production testing.

  • Identifies waste in production system and can action change to remove it.

  • Creation of manufacturing documentation, providing production tooling, implementation of new process change and related activities.

  • Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them

  • Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process

  • Conducting basic equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, spares, and sustained production.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Proven mechanical background in a production/manufacturing environment.

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Windows packages.

  • The ability to communicate at all levels with both internal/external customers and suppliers.

  • Able to work alone as well as part of a team.

  • Excellent organisation skills to manage and prioritise workloads.

  • Be self-motivated and can work on your own initiative.

Desired Qualifications/skills:

  • Use of 2D & 3D modelling

  • Use of Teamcenter

  • Standard work, PFMEA’s, Control Plans, ergonomic assessments, knowledge of Manufacturing tools

  • Knowledge of Smart tooling solutions

  • Understanding of lean principles

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Salary: £26,784.11 rising to £28,153.18 once competencies completed.
