Walgreens Senior Director, Loyalty Marketing in DEERFIELD, Illinois

Job Summary

Define strategy and lead execution for membership loyalty programs that will deliver industry leading experiences for its members. Drives innovation and implements new ways for customers to achieve meaningful health outcomes via 1 1 customer engagement, store level collaboration, 3rd party partnerships and community building engagements. Responsible for leading program strategy, lifecycle marketing, member experience and financial services marketing to drive long term customer loyalty, deliver positive ROI, and achieve key business KPIs.

Job responsibilities

  • Oversees membership loyalty program strategy, lifecycle marketing, Go To Market GTM strategy, member experience and operations.

  • Develops, implements, and delivers the loyalty program for business to business B2B and Business to consumer B2C customers.

  • Defines the measures of success for the program and establish performance metrics for example ROI, new member acquisition and activation goals, engagement, retention, customer lifetime value, etc Launches scorecards to assist in planning and quick activations in response to member behavior.

  • Oversees membership loyalty P and L including accounting for financial viability of the program. Strategizes and implements program enhancements to optimize P and L for current and future fiscal years.

  • Collaborate with Finance, Insights or Analytics, Brand, Product, and Technology teams and leaders to establish and achieve an annual loyalty operating plan, including membership growth, revenue targets, expenses, discounts, and store-level profitability, to ensure positive financial impact.

  • Determines strategic opportunities to evolve and expands programmatic and brand loyalty benefits over time to drive increased customer love and Customer Lifetime Value CLV including ongoing competitor assessments, guiding customer research and benchmarking, and identifying potential partnerships to bring increased value to members.

  • Drives innovation, benefits, and experience for membership loyalty program. Oversees theprogram from conceptualization to launch including developing financial business case, martech implementation, and GTM strategy and plan.

  • Develops, fosters, and enhances internal relationships with key stakeholders Merchandising, Product, eCom, Pharmacy, Walgreens Health, Financial Services to leverage membership loyalty program value proposition with vendors or manufacturers through optimization of keycustomer insights. Educates and influences leaders on the value of the membership loyalty program and the opportunities provided by consumer purchasing behaviors.

  • Develops training materials and reporting for Customer Service, field leadership, store team members, and Store Operations teams to enable those groups to promote and support the loyalty program.

  • Oversees and provides leadership, direction and consultation to the Directors and Managers on staff within Marketing. Builds and manages an internal or external team to lead the development of Marketing. Oversees and directs the work of director, managers and their subordinates. Obtains and allocates resources to meet operating plans. Ensures the ongoing training and development of direct reports. Develops and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes, builds and maintains employee morale and motivation, ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies, fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace

External Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and at least 8 years of Loyalty experience OR High School/GED and at least 11 years of Loyalty experience

  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, including the executive level.

  • Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget.

  • Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

  • Experience leading cross functional teams in a matrix organization

  • Experience interacting and influencing others at the executive level.

  • Experience creating opportunities and leading initiatives that impact ROI and or an Organizations profitability

  • At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.

  • At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and or cross functional team leadership.

  • Willing to travel up to or at least 5% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master s degree OR MBA

  • Experience with consumer health and demonstrated creative thinking and innovation in the Loyalty industry

  • Experience working with complex data analysis and applying AI or machine Learning or personalization best practices

  • Experience in marketing technology landscape with relevant digital marketing technologies (personalization, CDP, CMS, Campaign Management, analytics)
