About the role

As a Project Management Director, you'll be responsible for project management services within a dedicated Life Sciences client account. You will lead the project management team(s) onsite and at other account-specific US-based locations.

The selected Project Management Director, Life Sciences is required to be onsite or in the office on a fulltime basis in King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania. This role may require occasional travel to the other client sites that are a part of this portfolio.

What you’ll do

  • Direct all phases of the process for clients including procurement, contracting, planning, tracking, and execution, and ensure that contract procurement, negotiation, execution, administration, and closeouts are accurate, timely, and compliant.

  • Develop new business growth and maintain existing business relationships.

  • Maintain full responsibility for the financial performance of market, program, and client accounts.

  • Identify project risks, lead reviews, and develop risk mitigation and backup plans.

  • Oversee cross-functional projects and programs from end to end.

  • Initiate the development of a program charter and integrated timeline. Ensure all functions remain on schedule, issues get resolved, and the program is completed successfully.

  • Manage internal, external, and vendor relationships in support of the projects, portfolio, or program.

  • May assess or propose sustainability initiatives, considering factors such as cost-effectiveness, technical feasibility, and facility integration.

  • Drive operational improvements through the identification and implementation of opportunities to improve Energy & Sustainability performance.

  • Apply a robust knowledge of multiple disciplines, the business, and key drivers that impact departmental and cross-functional performance

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Persuade managers and other colleagues to take action while being guided by the organization's functional business plans. Willingness to be hands on when needed.

  • Review progress and achievements, lessons learned and use analytics to find drivers for improvements on account.

  • Negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers of divergent interests to reach a common goal.

  • Identify and address multi-dimensional, complex, operational, and organizational problems leveraging the appropriate resources within or outside the department.

  • Significantly improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline.

  • Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.

  • Coordinate and lead the account team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.

What you’ll need

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-12 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. LEED AP, PMP, and/or CCM designation(s) preferred. Experience in a Life Sciences, Lab, Pharmaceuticals or other regulated environment is highly preferred.

  • Leadership skills to set, manage, and achieve targets with a direct impact on multiple department results within a function.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.

  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and resolve problems.

  • Expert interpersonal skills and an advanced inquisitive and growth mindset.
