Prewitt Farms Partnership dba Prewitt Farms (Boyle, MS): Farm Worker.

 

Operation of various tractors and farm equipment to till soil; work ground; prepare and maintain land; and plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to elevator or storage area. Equipment to be operated includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, sprayers, combines, back-hoes, mowers, track-hoes, ATV/side by sides, and semi- trucks. Semi-truck operation does not require a CDL and will only occur to transport crops either from fields to farm operated storage units, or to transport crops to elevators. Participate in irrigation activities including laying pipe, walking length of irrigation pipe to puncture it at set intervals, setting up and operating irrigation equipment, clearing and maintaining irrigation ditches, operating well motors, operating and maintaining pivots, draining excess water from fields, and monitoring fields to check on and maintain adequate water supply to crops; building, constructing, and maintaining levees, installing and removing levy gates, and putting in spillways. Manual duties include, but are not limited to, loading seed into planters; properly mixing chemicals; loading chemicals into sprayers; changing combine cutting heads; roughing fields and using hand tools to remove undesirable plant varieties, trash, and other objects form fields; welding; performing general maintenance, repairs, and/or clean-up of storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, fences, gates, barns, and all farm equipment; ensure operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean, and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; regularly service equipment; lift objects as needed; mowing and landscaping on the farm. Duties also include receiving crop for drying and storage at grain storage facility; disposing of spoiled grain; transporting grain from fields to grain bins; loading and unloading grain into trucks while keeping grain level; operating augers and grain conveying equipment; monitoring grain moisture levels; preparing scale tickets; and shoveling grain.

 

Requires driver's license within 30 days of hire.
