About the Role
We currently have an opportunity for a professional and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Project Engineer based in Carole Park, Qld.
Internal liaison with project managers, production, design and logistics functions
External liaison/co-ordination with builders, clients, engineers and architects
Document control and Preparation of documents such as site WHS, project plans, SWMS, manuals
Site inspections & measures
Manage and schedule site installation teams
Create and manage approval, production and as-built drawings
Make recommendations to improve design, manufacture and development
Convert drawing files to suitable format for use with both internal and external manufacturing processes
Review project documentation including specifications and drawings to co-ordinate with product requirements
Co-ordinate with clients, engineers and architects as required including submission and closing out RFI, structural design requirements and the like
Liaise with external suppliers with respect to quotes, lead times and warranty documentation
Perform design and drafting tasks in both 2 D and 3 D formats as appropriate for the individual projects
Create and submit project tenders, estimates and quotes as required
Produce Bill of Materials for production
Carry out drafting tasks to assist sales and marketing as and when required
Attend project handovers with Project Manager, Sales / Estimator, Production Manager
Manage document and design control using data base managements tools as required for specific projects including Aconex and the like
About You
You have a keen and 'can do' attitude; excellent telephone manner, willingness to learn on the job, ability to communicate with clients, specifiers and subcontractors, sound level of skill in the use of windows suite of tools. You will be able to demonstrate:
Previous experience and a network in Architectural practices
The ability to read and interpret commercial building plans
Experience working with Architectural software packages
Knowledge of the commercial construction industry and its processes as well as BCA and local standards
Excellent computer skills and strong communication skills
The ability to work autonomously and as a team
Proven experience in tracking projects from design to completion
