Summary: The Field Service Technician Reports to the Manager of Operations and is part of the Global Services organization. Global Services strives to deliver an unsurpassed value driven experience that makes Baxter an essential service solutions provider for our customers. This position will travel to area hospitals and clinics and provide technical instrumentation service. The Field Service Technician installs, checks out, operates, maintains, repairs, and modifies equipment, provides guidance and training to customer personnel in establishing operation, maintenance, and inspection procedures and techniques, and analyzes equipment failures to determine cause and recommends corrective action.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Advises and assists in effecting design changes to improve equipment efficiency and/or reduce cost of operation. Devises and implements preventive maintenance programs and keeps performance and maintenance records on equipment.
Participates in installation planning phase.
Adheres to all environmental, health and safety SOPs, equipment, policies and procedures.
Provide dialysis/apheresis instrumentation installation.
Completes installations and repair services within time requirements established by service management.
Provide contract preventative maintenance in accordance with published procedures.
Successfully completes instrumentation training at Baxter training facility.
Provide on-site clinical instrumentation in-service.
Schedules service calls with customers in accordance with current procedures published by national and regional management.
Provides installation and repair service within time requirements established by service management.
Performs other duties as required.
Associate’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
Minimum of 2-5 year of relevant experience.
Excellent communication ability required.
Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions are required.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and draw accurate conclusions based on available information.
Some overnight travel will be required.
