Role is as the Lead Systems Integrator (LSI) for electromechanical projects. Manages and has end-to-end ownership of medical device development, sustaining engineering, and / or manufacturing transfer projects that involve complex electromechanical components and systems. Provides the project cross-functional leadership with emphasis on the electrical and mechanical engineering ensuring optimal engineering solutions and sound manufacturing processes are implemented within the project plan. Effectively identifies, communicates and manages technical and resource requirements, and project schedule with all stakeholders. Identifies project, technical and manufacturing challenges, and creatively resolves these challenges. Contributes individually to the creation and completion of project and change-management deliverables.
End-to-end ownership of projects from initiation through verification and validation to implementation.
Leads internal cross-functional project teams and communications with all stakeholders.
Creates, maintains and manages project schedules.
Identifies project resource requirements and manages project resources.
Identifies project risks and issues, and leads their resolution.
Communicates project status and change pertaining to schedule, budget, issues, and scope.
Delegates and sets work direction for hardware project team members that include engineers, technicians and designers.
Leads and participates in the identification and documentation of project requirements and design inputs from all internal and external sources.
Leads and participates in the development of reliable design solutions from concept through verification and validation that meet requirements and inputs.
Leads and participates in the product and project risk management process.
Led the development or participated in at least one complete medical device product development project end to end, i.e. from concept to production
Participated in at least one electromechanical design project.
Demonstrated expert understanding of design and documentation controls, and medical device compliance standards including for example IEC 60601.
Traits and Personality: organized, assertive, energetic, engaging, hands on.
Demonstrated history of structuring projects and communicating project direction, tasks, status and updates.
Bachelor’s Degree (Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering preferred);
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project or program management, and 5 years in medical devices; experienced with design and documentation controls, and developing medical products in an ISO 13485 certified quality system. Strong understanding of compliance standards including for example IEC 60601
