Location: Bremerton, Washington (Hybrid in-person and remote schedule possible) Type: Non-exempt (hourly) Compensation: $21.00 - $29.42 per hour (Skookum's compensation strategy is to position new employees between the minimum and midpoint of this range, depending on qualifications and experience.) As an Accounting Associate you'll... The Accounting Associate understands and has experience with full cycle accounting. Accounting Associates are responsible for a wide variety of finance-related tasks, these tasks involve collaboration with Staff Accountants and Accounts Payable Accountants. Accounts Payable high volume data entry, coding, filing, and scanning. Accounts Receivable data entry, filing, mail, and scanning. Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable coverage and support. Prepare and code general ledger entries. Support fixed assets process, facilitate paperwork, and coordinate with Fixed Asset Accountant. Assist with month end closing. Maintain, code, expense, and reconcile balance sheet accounts including prepaid, cash, and inventory accounts. Record monthly banking transitions including interest, credit card fees, loan payments. Create revenue, supplier Invoice, and payment enterprise interface builder for upload into accounting system. Enter loan amortization schedules into accounting system. Manage and process yearly fleet registration renewals for all vehicles in various states. Work with and support assigned Accounts Payable Accountant. Assemble, review, and verify invoices and checks for weekly check run. Navigate one or more internal enterprise resource planning systems. Ability to organize and prioritize work based on business needs and competing timelines. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Communicates effectively with employees inside and outside of the department to accomplish goals for the team. Demonstrate ability to multi-task throughout the day with constant interruptions.
