Your role at Clorox:

Oversee the Engineering, Maintenance & Quality functions in the plant. Reports into Plant Manager.

In this role, you will:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and coach Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality personnel, fostering development and growth even for those not directly reporting to the role.

  • Implement performance management processes such as PMP (Performance Management Process), objectives setting, Individual Development Plans (IDP), and Career Interest discussions to drive professional growth and accountability.

  • Actively participate in the plant Leadership Team, leveraging the Engineer’s Guide to Career Development in strategic planning and talent management initiatives.

  • Lead Capability Assessments with prior approval from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.

  • Serve as a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, collaborating closely with the plant manager to drive operational excellence and achieve strategic objectives.

  • Develop and maintain the Facility Improvement Plan (FIP) for the next 3-5 years, outlining key initiatives and investments to enhance facility infrastructure and capabilities.

  • Communicate technical work priorities effectively across the plant organization, fostering alignment and collaboration.

  • Manage capital projects and contractor collaborations, ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and to specification.

  • Drive plant equipment standardization and seek approval for modifications from the Platform Team to streamline operations and maintenance.

  • Keep OEM informed about significant equipment and technology selections to ensure alignment with company objectives and standards.

  • Develop and adhere to a regular update schedule for technical documentation to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

  • Manage the annual and 3-year capital program through internal plant reviews, optimizing resource allocation and project prioritization.

  • Ensure adherence to Clorox Capital Project Management Practices, maintaining standards and best practices throughout project execution.

  • Review Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) proposals to ensure clarity, compelling business justifications, and alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Supervise Plant Facility Management, including security, safety, maintenance, utility systems, and permit compliance to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.

  • Drive operational predictability by optimizing the preventive maintenance system and implementing error-proofing measures to mitigate safety risks.

  • Lead the Plant WCO Early Management Pillar, fostering engagement and utilization of EM tools to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.

  • Take accountability for capital spending, implementing effective monitoring and control systems to optimize resource utilization and project outcomes.

  • Contribute to R&D trials and new product initiatives within the plant, leveraging technical expertise to support innovation and product development.

  • Other duties assigned.

What we look for:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing Plant Engineer role, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of plant engineering and maintenance practices.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role, with proven leadership capabilities in overseeing maintenance teams and operations.

  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and troubleshooting skills, with a track record of implementing effective solutions to optimize plant performance and reliability.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional time management abilities, capable of prioritizing and managing multiple projects and tasks efficiently.

  • Proficiency in SAP S4/Hana, Aveva, eQMS (Electronic Quality Management Systems), and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), along with project management expertise.

  • Effective oral, presentation, and written communication skills, essential for clear and concise interaction with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, showing initiative and accountability to meet project deadlines and organizational goals.

  • Proven adaptability to quickly learn and leverage new software and systems, actively driving change initiatives, particularly within Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, including the ability to motivate, mentor, and empower team members to achieve operational excellence.
