Chewy Associate Director, Site Merchandising in Boston, Massachusetts

Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for an Associate Director to join our Site Experience Team. This leader will directly own site merchandising, customer journey strategies, and the content roadmap for a high visibility set of product categories that are strategic to Chewy’s growth. This customer-obsessed leader will help create a ‘best-in-class’ experience, driving product discoverability and presentation across the Chewy site. The ideal candidate will have retail and/or e-commerce experience, and will be a data-driven leader, who is comfortable working and influencing cross-functionally. The business is evolving quickly, so this leader will have a clear point of view, but be flexible enough to pivot as needed based on shifting landscape and business demands.

What You'll Do:

  • Create a “best-in-class” everyday shopping experience for the Pet Supplies (“Hard Goods”) businesses, including promotional activations (Holiday/Cyber Events, and other large-scale promotional events), and showcasing our Private Brand offerings

  • Prioritize the customer, thinking through the end-to-end experience for pet parents

  • Direct a team as they execute category specific site merchandising optimizations, determining the attribute structure, navigation pathways and landing experiences to best drive product discoverability and presentation

  • Build business cases to support product resourcing requests for high value website functionality

  • Utilize web analytics and data to guide ongoing improvements and optimize site merchandising tools to drive category traffic and increase conversion

  • Lead a team of site merchandising folks (currently 2-3)

What You'll Need:

  • College degree in business-related field

  • 10+ years work experience, with 2+ years in ecommerce

  • “Owner” mindset – you own the vision, strategy, and execution

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively and influence cross-functionally

  • Demonstrate a data-driven approach to problem solving and prioritization

  • Ability to think ahead and set plans in motion for future growth

Bonus:

  • MBA

  • Experience in e-commerce back-end operations and Google Analytics

  • Familiarity with SQL
