Micron Technology, Inc. Shift Equipment Engineer in Boise, Idaho

As a Shift Equipment Engineer at Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho, you are responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment and/or processes, while working in partnership with production team members and area engineers. In this position you will supervise tool performance, schedule and perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to solve and repair equipment issues. They are also required to assist with equipment installs, engineering tests, build and modify equipment procedures, increase tool uptime through systematic problem solving and quality workmanship, and thoroughly document all maintenance.

Safety & Quality:

  • Completes all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with safety policies.

  • Creates and maintains a safe work environment.

  • Performs safety audits and walkthroughs.

  • Consistently supports established safety and quality processes.

  • Participates in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) actions.

  • Contributes to continuous improvement and problem-solving efforts.

  • Identifies and helps resolve training opportunities or procedure gaps.

  • Ensures the quality of task updates and passdowns.

  • Manages queue time alerts and helps coordinate when to stop/start lot ordering.

Communication & Teamwork:

  • Works efficiently at a world class level, collaborates with all areas and work functions.

  • Must be willing to work any shift on a rotating schedule (allowing for flexibility around school schedule where applicable)

  • Partners with 1st Shift Engineers and Shift Engineers/Technicians to implement daily activities to resolve issues that could cause yield loss, excursions, defects, tool restrictions, or output loss.

  • Collaborates with leaders onimprovement opportunities to construct personal performance and development goals.

  • Provides clear written communication.

  • Ensures pass down communications are updated and accurately reflects the work performed and tool current statuses.

  • Ensures maintenance and work is effectively completed and tracked to high quality standards.

Technical/Data Analysis:

  • Ability to solve equipment and process issuesand enable manufacturing development.

  • Provide mentorship topeers and resolve highly technical equipment issues.

  • Drive root cause analysis topermanent prevention.

  • Improve overall equipment effectiveness withing the Total Productive Maintenance culture.

  • Partner with teammates to eliminate defects and create continuous improvement projects.

  • Analyze data with SPC principles to improve process controls and reduce defectivity baselines.

  • Effectively manage equipment SPC performance to enable more effective equipment processing.

Project Management/Planning:

  • Lead continuous improvement projects including everyday activities Micron.

  • Collaborate with equipment owners to develop, prioritize, and run projects.

  • Lead projects to ensure objectives are completed within the required scope, schedule and budget.

  • Trackactions and provide solution paths or resources to ensure actions are completed on time.

  • Strong project management skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in a related technical field such as Mechanical or Electrical Engineering OR an AS degree accompanied by 5+ years of semiconductor confirmed experience.

  • Proficient in electrical, vacuum, gas flow and mechanical fundamentals including skilled at using schematic diagrams to fix systems to components level.

  • Intermediate to advanced software skills, i.e.Python, Java, Tableau, Matlab, MS Office Suite, Jmp, Solidworks, and Autocad.

  • Ability to learn area equipment including knowledge of process recipes.

  • Firm understanding on how the equipment is designed to process.

  • Intermediate understanding of the Fab process areas and including area processing equipment and supporting systems.

  • Strong time management, organization, prioritization and communication skills.
