Energy Sales Representative

$50,000 - $70,000 annual base + commission

Summary

Tri-Energy Cooperative, a leading provider of Cenex gas, bulk fuels, and convenience stores across Bismarck, Mandan, Dickinson, Sterling, and Lincoln seeks anEnergy Sales Representative to focus on energy products like refined fuels, propane, oil, and lubricants. You must be able to make decisions and work independently and in a team environment. Qualified candidates must be detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position reports to the Energy Division Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with customers to achieve retail sales goals and execute sales.
  • Identify opportunities to provide consultative services for businesses and customers.
  • Utilize fundamental sales principles and practices and acquire product, customer, industry, and company infrastructure knowledge applicable to improving sales, marketing, and consulting skills.
  • Act on opportunities or pass them on to more experienced staff members and shadow the process.
  • Develop customer lists to include current and prospective customers.
  • Call on current and prospective customers, focusing on representing the assigned co-op, building relationships, and promoting Tri Energy Cooperative products.
  • Prepare basic and assist with moderate to complex, bids and proposals.
  • Develop or participate in developing straightforward customer presentations and obtain information on market and industry trends, competitors, and sales programs.
  • Build customer relationships by providing proactive service through identifying customer needs and responding promptly.
  • Build a working knowledge of various products, maintain, and promote a strong safety culture, and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Continuously - 66-100% - Use hands dexterously, talk or hear.
  • Frequently - 34-65% - Stand, walk, sit, stoop/kneel/crouch, or crawl, climb, lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally - 1-33% - Reach with hands and arms, or balance, or lift up to 80 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of Sales, Business Development, and Sales Business Operations

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Tri Energy Cooperative offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, other earnings such as commissions. The actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, experience, education, training, specialized skills, and certifications.
