Midwest Goods Inc. Overnight Security Associate in Bensenville, Illinois

Location: Bensenville, IL

Schedule : All shifts, Candidates, must be flexible to working all shifts including overnights

Status : Full-Time (Non-Exempt)

Compensation : Starting at $21.00 hourly

$300 Sign-on Bonus After Completion of the 90-day Probationary Period

The Security Associate is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all customers, visitors and employees by monitoring premises for suspicious activities and reporting activities and incidents. The Security Associate will also be responsible for protecting the company's property and assets.

Essential Functions

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Patrol the internal and external area of the facility to identify and report at risk behaviors, hazards, rule violations, and life safety/security equipment failures.

  • Be vigilant and alert at all times.

  • Must be accommodating and flexible in filling the department’s scheduled needs, including all shifts.

  • Assists in securing premises and personnel by walking property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, bags, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.

  • Write reports for all incidents.

  • Respond to emergency situations, including administering CPR and or use of Automated External Defibrillator.

  • Maintains a safe environment by monitoring building and equipment controls.

  • Responsible for completing assigned tracker tasks by the Manager, Supervisor, Lead or Senior Management.

  • Operates and has knowledge of the building's life safety systems which includes fire alarm and fire suppression systems, emergency exit and access control system, public announcement system, and surveillance system.

  • Assists with preventing losses and damages to company property by reporting irregularities; informs violators of policy and procedures.

  • Abides by the given rotation schedule when assigned and completes daily paperwork.

  • Abides by assigned schedule and as required to continue a smooth flow in day-to-day operations.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This job will not have any supervisory responsibility.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a warehouse /distribution center environment where the noise level can be loud. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the dues of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending all day. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items up to 20 pounds as necessary.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • Training for this position might require Training to take place during the third shift hours.

  • This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week (days and hours to be specified).

  • On demand availability to cover other shifts. (Daytime and Night-Time Shifts).

  • Upon request of the Manager be available to cover any other shift assigned given a same-day notice. Any shift assigned includes any weekdays and weekends to maintain and secure the building 24hrs / 7days a week with or without operations present.

    Travel

    Must have dependable transportation, as this position requires travel to another site.

    Required Education and Experience

  • Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office experience are required.

  • At least 20 Hours of Unarmed Security Course Certificate of completion

  • A minimum of HS Diploma or equivalent and one or two years of previous security guard or related warehouse experience.

  • Have an active PERC.

  • Have an active CPR and AED Certification valid for at least 2 years.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    Security experience in a warehouse or factory environment is required. Military background is a plus.

    Work Authorization

    Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
