Position: Portfolio Communications (Associate) Manager, Communication & Public Affairs

Location: Beijing

Reporting Line: Associate Director of Communication & Public Affairs, Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine

Position Description:

Contribute to business growth and establish our leadership in therapeutic areas through new product/indication launch, raising disease/ treatment class awareness, supporting patient access and managing product level issue and crisis.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provides communication strategic counseling to the business partners on a regular basis. Defines and prioritizes the communication needs of the businesses. Identifies communications opportunities to adapt business needs and develops overarching communications strategies.

  • Develop and implement communication strategies to strengthen the product and therapeutics areas image and reputation of Innovative Medicine in therapeutic strongholds as a thought leader, breakthrough innovator, and a trusted partner for healthcare system.

  • Exhibit awareness and understanding of our therapeutic area and have ability to apply deep knowledge to draft key messages and documents and create integrated communication plans to ensure effective strategic communications supporting business strategies/objectives.

  • Protects the brand reputation through managing the existing and potential issues/crises. Convenes internal stakeholders to align on contingency communications strategies and tactics. Leads the execution of the aligned media plan.

  • Special project planning and execution including global / regional work streams, skills in project management, determine and manage resources and time requirements.

  • Initiate and manage the internal review/alignment procedures across financial, legal, compliance, copyright review processes and accomplish in an efficient and timely manner.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements

  • At least 6 years of working experience in healthcare industry and portfolio communications, issue management, media relations experience, or relevant experience in a leading PR agency are preferred.

  • Proven track record of innovative and keen in exploring communication innovations / new channels.

  • Excellent copy-writing skills and demonstrated ability to prepare reports in both Chinese and English.

  • Experience dealing with issue and crisis management work.

  • Demonstrated experience and ability in social media communication response and management.

  • Interpersonal skills, able to liaise with and gain co-operation of all levels of management, staff and stakeholders.
