Software Developer/Engineer Co-Op

KBR is seeking software developer Co-Op who will develop software for several enterprise space command and control software applications for the United States Space Force. Applicants must be self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to adapt to dynamic environments. We are seeking Sophomores to Seniors part-time (up to 20 hours per week) in the Spring or Fall and throughout the school year/Summer. Candidates need to be located within 20 miles of the Dayton, OH metro area and be able to obtain a security clearance.

Position Responsibilities

Proactively identify and resolve challenging issues in a variety of software applications Assist with system configuration, deployments, and control processes Interact with other software developers and teams across a multidisciplinary set of software development efforts Develop software for both front end and back end systems

Skills Desired

Experience in back end software application development and server deployment; including Spring Boot, cloud database, and Java EE Experience in front end software application development, including thick and thin client technologies such as JFace/SWT, Javascript, OpenGL, and WebGL Willingness to quickly pick up new technologies Experience in modern technologies such as Linux, RESTful Services, Docker, Kubernetes, MQ, Git and Agile processes Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Javascript, Python, React, with focus on object-oriented methodologies
