Position Overview:

As the Director of Modern Trade, you will be a critical leader in our Customer & Commercial team (CCL), responsible for driving the growth in Supermarkets/Hypermarkets, HORECA and leading our McDonald's Business (McThai). You will be an individual contributor but must leverage people in our networked organization and influence key stakeholders to deliver results.

Your primary objective will be to drive sustainable, profitable growth for the Company and System whilst driving our strategic brand and corporate objectives. You will be responsible for achieving McThai's commercial KPIs (Volume, Revenue and Profit) and building best-in-class Commercial Plans across the Modern Trade.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop commercial plans that enable the sustainable and profitable growth of Coca-Cola's business in Thailand

  • Understand the complexity of our channels, customers, bottlers, routes-to-market, in-store equipment, brand strategy, revenue growth strategy and put all of these together to develop strong commercial plans that can be executed in the market

  • Complete ownership as the Business Manager of McThai, responsible for growing Coca-Cola's beverage business within that key customer.

  • Influence key stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Franchise Operations and beyond to ensure the Commercial agenda is delivered in the market

  • Leverage a regional network (ASEAN, Australia and New Zealand) of commercial resources to support in the delivery of these plans

  • Use fact-based, data-led insights to develop plans and influence stakeholders

  • Be a leader within and beyond the team; acting as an agent of change, building a collaborative and inclusive environment that puts people first

Stakeholder Management

This is a Director level role. This role will require senior-level stakeholder engagement across The Coca-Cola Company, our Bottling partners and McThai, and is expected to navigate our internal network and lead with people to achieve great results. Stakeholders include but are not limited to:

  • The CEO, COO, CMO and Supply Chain Head at McThai

  • Bottler AVP and Director level leaders

  • VP and Senior Director level stakeholders internally

  • Our various local and regional Marketing, Franchise Operations, Commercial and Customer team members, with whom you will deliver work and align on plans

Complexity

This role has a high level of complexity due to its broad remit. It will include:

  • Co-building and influencing the final Commercial plans of Super/Hypers with the Bottling teams (e.g. Lotus's and Big C)

  • The HORECA channel (non-major accounts)

  • Complete ownership of the McDonald's account, with strong support via the network from Technical/Supply, Marketing, Commercial and Operations

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree+ preferred

Related Work Experience:

  • A proven track record of driving growth in commercial, sales, marketing or related roles in the CPG/FMCG industry

  • Experience and a high level of comfort leveraging multiple data sources to build fact-based narratives to influence stakeholders

  • Demonstration of customer-facing experience and managing customer relationships

Functional Skills:

  • Strategic thinking, creative problem solving and commercial acumen

  • Leading and influencing through a network of cross-functional and cross-company stakeholders

  • Customer/Account/Relationship management
