Bio-Techne Immunoassay Sales Specialist, UK & Ireland Academic Accounts in Abingdon, Minnesota

This position will hold responsibility for growing and managing the Immunoassay business across defined key academic accounts within the UK and Ireland within the Bio-Techne NAR Team in Bio-Techne EMEA. In this position you will be expected to maintain an extremely high level of customer engagement and use this to build mutually beneficial relationships that allow us to demonstrate value and increase annual revenues in line with business expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the growth of the Bio-Techne Immunoassay portfolio within Academic and Government accounts within the territory or UK & Ireland

• Work closely with regional Digital Sales Team, Account Managers and Sales Specialists to offer customers the highest level of value by supporting their research and product development with unique immunoassay solutions across their entire workflow

• Develop a high level of understanding of our products and deliver value through a solution-based approach

• Identify and develop Executive level relationships to drive key partnership opportunities in immunoassay detection

• Identification of prospective a wide range of customer roles to engage and initiate discussions, via multiple touch points including digital video communications, email, phone, face to face meetings and business based social media

• Develop a pipeline of key high value clinical research projects to sustainably grow the business

• Agree deployment of the Digital Sales Team with the Leader to optimise management of existing accounts and develop new ones

• Actively convert competitor multiplex solutions to Bio-Techne Immunoassay offering

• Development and continued use of Business Plans for each Immunoassay account

• Use industry knowledge to initiate workflow discussions early in the planning phase of product development

• Build and strengthen your network and relationships within the customer organisations

• Understanding customer goals, focus, budgets, needs, preferences and all relevant influencers

• Work closely with our marketing department and product managers to execute specific campaigns as part of the regional strategy

• Demonstrate understanding of your territory and accurately forecast revenue on monthly and quarterly basis to the Territory Business Manager

• Represent the company through networking at domestic and international conferences.

• Complete reporting as required by the Territory Business Manager

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• At least five years experience, with proof of success in capital equipment sales to the Life Sciences research sector. Preferably with experience in either sales of disruptive new technologies to the biopharmaceutical customer segment or immunoassay system sales experience.

• Minimum of a Bachelor level degree in a relevant scientific discipline. A research background with higher degree (M.Sc or PhD) is an advantage.

Skills required/desired:

• Experience selling immunoassay systems or products to pharmaceutical, biotech and academic customers

• Knowledge of the immunoassay market and key players

• Critical business skills including; negotiation, account management, organizational skills, problem solving and fact-based decision making

• Experience in addressing the North Atlantic Life Science market (Academia and Commercial) will be an advantage

• Highly motivated with demonstrative interpersonal, presentation & organizational skills

• Energetic, enthusiastic and eager to find a path to success

• Able to work with a high degree of independence. A “self-starter”

• Proficient in English language (written and spoken) with demonstrably excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong interpersonal interaction skills and demonstrable ability to work collaboratively at all levels within the Bio-Techne organisation

• Strong customer relationship skills. Skilled in anticipating and resolving issues

• Excellent attention to detail, time management and process management

• Strong interpersonal interaction skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues

• Proficient in the use of computer applications and software. Familiarity with MS Office and SalesForce.com CRM system advantageous

• Willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks and gains enjoyment from working in a fast-paced environment
